Sushil Kumar and Jamila Mitra Charitable trust ( India) awards a number of annual scholarships of Rs.6,000/- (Rupees Six thousand only) to deserving students of alternative systems of medicine from the economically poor and middle class families.
The Scheme is open to Indian nationals who are less than 25 years of age as at 1st January 2010 with distinguished academic career and an annual family/parental income of Rs.100,000/- or less. There is no prescribed format of application. Applications on plain paper giving name in full, postal address and Pin Code, nationality, name and address of the institution of study, course of study together with expected month and year for course completion, date of birth and age, marital status, father’s name and occupation, gross family income, number of dependents in the family, details of achievments of the applicant in the academic field and extra-curricular activities together with details of marks/grades obtained duly supported by legible certified copies of documents and certificates should reach the Trust through the head of the institution together with his/her recommendations so as to reach on or before 31st December 2009.
Applications from candidates who have secured less than 60% marks in their annual examination or which are otherwise incomplete or do not supply all the information asked for or are not sponsored/recommended by the head of the institution will not be considered.
The scholarship cheques for the selected applicants will be mailed to the institutions concerned during the month of March 2010. The trust entertains only those applications as are duly sponsored by the concerned institutions. It does not entertain applications received directly from candidates.
Those who have received scholarship from this Trust in the past or who are currently in receipt of any other scholarship or financial assistance from some other institutions or organization, state or central government or any other agency are not eligible to apply.
The trust is a registered Charitable Trust whose main aim and object is to promote growth and development of alternative systems of medicine (including Homoeopathy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Sidha, Yoga, Unani and others) and encourage their wide spread use in India as an inexpensive and yet effective means of medical care and treatment particularly suitable for the poor masses of India. The applications received will be reviewed by the Selection Committee of the Trust whose decision on the subject will be final and binding.
