In the present fast age the diseases of cardio vascular system are becoming burning problem in our society. In the previous years the diseases were quiet prevalent in developed countries like U.S.A. But with the fast globalization the occurrence of diseases are increasing very rapidly in the developing countries also, like our India. Among the very many cardio vascular diseases the incidences of Ischaemic heart diseases and Coronary artery diseases are major in number, though the incidences of rheumatic fever, congenital cyanotic heart diseases are not very uncommon happenings in our society. Homoeopathic physician as a general practitioner and clinician should bear the responsibility of tackling these diseases. Majority of the Homoeopaths are general practitioner in nature as because till date the conception of Homoeopathic specialization or super specialization is not developed and on the other hand it violets the very basics and the fundamental principles of the Homoeopathic system of medicine. So the preliminary screening or the first time identification of the diseases is the responsibility of every Homoeopathic Physician. For this purpose one should have sound knowledge of Practice of Medicine as well as he should be acquainted with the basic philosophical background of Homoeopathic System of medicine. A Homoeopath should treat the patient of cardio vascular diseases with much confidence. Homoeopathic approach does not always indicate the therapeutic approach. Therapeutic approach quiet differs from the homoeopathic concept - the concept of Individualization. In each and every disease, without influenced by the aetio-pathogenesis, we should search for the cause of the cause - the dynamic cause as well as the detail history of the evolution of the disease from its inception in a very individual which differs one from another. One has to go through, rather searched for, the detailed symptomatology and earnest effort to be completed in location, sensation, modalities, concomitants and any other feature related to the disease condition. For example Palpitation is one of the most important symptoms of the valvular diseases. So by knowing and remembering this symptom (palpitation) of valvular disease one can not constitute the totality until we clarify it in the domain of Homoeopathic philosophy like the different characteristics of modalities, peculiar sensations, concomitants etc. In another example the typical characteristic pain of the Ischaemic Heart Diseases are of less value from homoeopathic view if it is not more specified by different questioning from homoeopathic angle. During completion of the signs and the symptomatology we should think of those signs & symptoms which are developed due to disease pathology though in various cases those seems to be appear as the very characteristic from Homoeopathic stand point. In reality those signs & symptoms are of less value in framing the totality and ultimately to reach to the simillimum. In the management of the cardio vascular diseases the Tactfulness and the knowledge of the modern / latest investigations, latest nutrition for dietetic management etc. are of utmost importance. One can not refrain from taking the advantages of ultra modern bio technologies for the benefit of the patient. In the era of Consumer Protection Act the diagnosis is must in every cases and it should be done by every Homoeopath. It will also elevate the self confidence level as well as the patient's reliability on the physician. The knowledge of Pathology, micro biology, Molecular biology, Genetic theory etc also are to be considered but any one should not misunderstand my word that these are not to be considered at all. For making the diagnosis as a clinician you should be superior one with all of the available modern tools, but it is my sincere request to all of you, specially to the fresh graduates, that during framing the totality, restrict yourself within the domain of Homoeopathic Philosophy and exhaust your self to enhance the quality of the common symptomatology found in a patient, so that the uncommonness, the peculiarity may show the way of reaching to the simillimum. Last of all I should say that every system of treatment has got certain limitations and all might be aware of that in their own field. Homoeopathic system of Medicine is not an exceptional one. Multiple cases are under surgical conditions in which surgical interference are the most necessary one to perform. Apart from the surgical conditions all the other diseases you can deal with lots of self esteem by which the suffering humanity will be benefited. From the congenital cyanotic heart diseases to the conditions of heart failures, SBE etc. all are the treatable disease under Homoeopathic system of medicine if proper management is given with the medicine. The stage of the diseases is very important to know the prognosis of the case. It can be claimed that in irreversible disease pathology when only palliation can be given, at that time the Homoeopathic palliation is one of the best and safest palliation in the present era. In few cases lack of "the indications" will compel you to palliate the disease condition, but in those cases also palliation should by no mean the specific one, rather it should be Homoeopathic specific - group specific - abiding by the concept of the Individualization. At last, I have to say some comments on the curability of the disease and about our scope and limitations:- There should not be any hard and fast or fixed rule regarding the scope and limitations in the Homoeopathic System of Medicine(rather it will be better if I can say in MEDICINE!). Remembering all the Pathology (reversible & irreversible), Medicine (incurable/curable/preventable), Homoeopathic Philosophy (Organon of medicine & other philosophy of the stalwarts), I can say with utmost confidence that it is the case; it is the patient and his circumstances which remain responsible for the real prognosis of the diseased patient. You can guess or predict but you should not be enough confident one to declare anything a priory on the basis of some fixed principle. We should remember today's rationality is based on the empiricism of the past and the today's rational idea may prove wrong in the future and the empirical thinkers of now may prove themselves rational with the changing world. |
