A two year old child V. was brought for treatment. He had been a diagnosed case of Hydrocephalus with characteristic sun set eye look, unable to walk or talk and very poor appetite and a profusely perspiring head. The case was repertorized on Boger-Bonninghausen soft ware. Silicea was strongly suggested which was given in 0/1 four times daily on 13/7/09. Follow up on 4/8/09 reported normal look of eyes and improved appetite. The head circumference also diminished. Silicea was continued till 28/10/09 with the report that he is eating well, talking well and has a normal look of head and eyes but does not walk at all. The main concern and worry of the parents at this time remained only with his inability to walk.
At this point Physostigma was given in 0/1 four times daily and the child gradually started walking first with the help of the walker and the wall and within 4 weeks of the administration of Physostigma is running now. It is interesting to note that walking difficult has only 3 remedies in Boenninghausen repertory namely Cactus, Physostigma and Silicea. Since Sil did not help in walking although helping in all other complaints Physostigma was given which completed the cure. The grand mother of the child is overjoyed and in order to show me how he is walking, gives her the car key to be given to me and he runs to give it to me.
