Late Homeopathy Dr. Jugal Kishore and Homeopathy Dr. Mukesh Batra got Padmshree from President of India for their welfare works for society

Dr. Jugal Kishore (Homeopathy) and Dr. Mukesh Batra (Homeopathy) have been chosen for Padmashree Awards 2012 for their contribution to the field of Medicine - Homeopathy

Dr. Jugal Kishore, Delhi and Dr. Mukesh Batra (1951 - ), Maharashtra have been chosen for Padma Shri awards 2012 for their contribution to the field of Medicine - Homeopathy.

Padma Shri (also Padmashree) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. This year the President has approved 109 awards including one duo case (counted as one) and 14 in the category of Foreigners/ NRIs/ PIOs/ Posthumous. These comprise five Padma Vibhushan, 27 Padma Bhushan and 77 Padmashree Awards. There are 19 women among the awardees.

The Awards are given in all disciplines/ fields of activities, viz. art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. 'Padma Vibhushan' is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; 'Padma Bhushan' for distinguished service of high order and 'Padmashree' for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.

The awards will conferred by the President of India at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in March/April.

The names of both Dr. Kishore and Dr. Batra do not need an introduction. While one gets the credit for contribution to education, research, clinical practice, policy making and manufacturing of quality medicine the other is known for his contribution in taking Homeopathy medicine to international market and giving the system new heights. However, Dr. Jugal Kishore will receive the award posthumously as two days before the announcement of awards he passed away.

He was one of the outstanding homoeopathic consultants, practicing Homoeopathy for more than 60 years in Delhi. He was born in 1915, graduated in Homoeopathic medicine from the Faulty of Homoeopathic Medicine. West Bengal. Dr. Kishore then started his homeopathic practice in June 1945 and his clinic was the first Homeopathic clinic run by a fully qualified homeopath with government recognition. He had the distinction of being appointed four times as the Hon. Physician to the President of India. He was also Hony. Homoeopathic Advisor to the Govt.of India and former Chairman of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia committee of India.

His other list of embellishments include:

  • Founder Director of Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, New Delhi.
  • President Asian Homoeopathic Medical League (AHML).
  • National Chief Executive International Homoeopathic Medical Organization (GENEVA).
  • Indian delegate to the International Congress held at Vienna in 1973, and later in 1976 to the International Congress at Athens in Greece.

He was also the visiting Consultant to Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital. In the Scientific era, he had proved a number of remedies like Saraca indica, sulphourous acid, Cynadon dac, Abroma augusta, M&B 693 and Tylophora indica. He was the creator of the Kishore Cards- the best punch card system for Homoeopathic Reportorial analysis and was the author of 'Evolution of Homoeopathic Repertories and Repertorisation' and 'Intergrated Homoeopathic Repertory-Mind'.

Dr. Jugal Kishore has authored a numbers of books some of which are:

One of the greatest teachers of all times Dr.Jugal Kishore left for his heavenly abode on 23.01.2012 at the age of 98 owing to age related problems. Dr. Kishore is survived by two sons. His wife Sharda passed away in 1978.

He is a homeopathy practitioner and the Chairman and Managing Director of Dr. Batra's Positive Health Clinic Pvt Ltd.

He received his medical degree in homeopathy in 1972 from Smt. Chandaben Mohanbhai Patel Homoeopathic Medical College. Mukesh Batra is the author of some popular books on Homeopathy and also writes regularly for the column Heal with Homeopathy published in The Times of India.

Mukesh Batra has been the recipient of several awards for his dedicated contribution to the field of healthcare and medicine. He received the International Medical Excellence Award along with a Certificate of Medical Excellence in the year 2009 at a seminar on Economic Development organized by the Institute of Economic Studies (IES) at New Delhi.

He has been honored with the Pride of India Award at the prestigious Indo Thai Economic Co-Operation seminar held in Bangkok in 2009. In 2002, he received the Annual Salute Mumbai Award for excellence in medicine.

Mukesh Batra's organization (Dr. Batras' Positive Health Clinic Pvt. Ltd., also known as Dr. Batra's) was the recipient of the Retailer of the Year award and also topped some of India's leading service brands in 2009. He is the pioneer of the concept of Homeopathic chain Clinics not only in India but also abroad which are instrumental in taking homeopathy medicine to global market.

Dr. Batra has strived incessantly to bring about the acceptance and legalization of Homeopathy across the world and was instrumental in legalizing the science in the Middle East countries.

 

The contributions of Dr. Jugal Kishore and Dr. Mukesh Batra have been rightfully acknowledged by conferring to them the Padmashree award. It is also the first time that practitioners of Homeopathy medicine have been chosen for their achievements for Padmashree. Through their hard work and persistence labors these great men have helped homeopathy reach new heights. They certainly deserve a salute from all of us.
