Agrohomeopathy or the utilization of Homeopathy to Agriculture has opened the doors to healthy horizons. In order to prevent the harmful effects of pesticide sprayed food people today have opted for Organic foods or foods grown organically without being enhanced by artificially sprayed chemicals. This is important, due to the fact that the use of agrochemicals and especially pesticides is acutely toxic to humans. Pesticides cause poisonings and deaths every year other than c hronic health effects of neurological effects, reproductive problems, interference with infant development, and cancer.

It is inhumane to use these chemicals if it is known that by the use of homeopathic dilutions or dynamizations we can produce healthy crops and therefore can avoid injury and death of many humans.

The days of pesticide sprayed food has passed with the application of homeopathy medicines to agriculture. Utilizing homeopathic dynamizations on plants guarantees non-toxicity, because their mode of preparation assures that plants will in no way be contaminated. Agro-homeopathy is highly beneficial to farmers. They can use this method with confidence that it will neither damage the organism the plants nor the environment.

Agrohomeopathy is not a recent advance, the search for alternatives to toxic substances used in agriculture led to the bio- dynamic agriculture of Rudolf Steiner in the last century and the work of Mrs. Lili Kolisko, who implemented the use of homeopathic dilutions or dynamizations for plants, which she called   agriculture of the future.   Her work became the basis of knowledge in Agrohomeopathy . Following Mrs. Kolisko's contributions, many experiments were made which validated the homeopathic principle, since it works in plants and organisms apart from man. (Ruíz, 2007).

Agrohomeopathy represents a viable, nontoxic and nonpolluting alternative to pest and disease control, giving important advantages to farmers. It does not present any health risks to them, or to consumers. It is a practical, effective, simple and economical technique which farmers can apply in their production system, whatever it may be.

Important benefits of agrohomeopathy include economic savings and preservation of the natural ecology. Agro-homeopathy can reduce costs from agrochemicals, and it will not damage the organism, the ground under the plant or its surrounding area and the water that serves as the solvent in the dynamizations.

Agrohomeopathy can also reverse damage already present in the ground because of the use of fertilizers or pesticides, or excessive salinity. There is already scientifically verified evidence supporting the relevancy of applying dynamizations to plants before and during sowing, or directly on the ground. Some medicines which have been found effective include Silicea: For slowly growing plants, attacks of mildew and other fungi. Rachitic plants. Interruptions of growth. Delay in production.

Nux vomica: For plants intoxicated by agro-chemicals.

Agro-homeopathy has enormous potential as it covers the majority of crops and enables crop abundance and nutritive yields. Therefore further investigations must be performed to strengthen the advances already achieved in developing this science. Also there is a need of scientific application of this science and recording of the results obtained. This will help in flourishing agriculture and also help farmers and consumers.

So, we present to you an exclusive issue on Agrohomeopathy, its concepts, is challenges, utility and scope. We hope that it will surely serve to whet your appetite on the subject and help us herald the next Green Revolution with Homeopathy.

Happy Reading.!!
